This report on Diaspora Direct Investment (DDI) seeks to explore the link between diaspora, remittances and FDI, and the potential of positive impact of diaspora/migrants on their home country economies. DDI is a relatively uncharted in policy making, though the value of diaspora has been well recognised by policy makers. The report examines the conceptual clarity in the definition of diaspora and DDI, collection of data related to diaspora investments, evidence based policies to encourage DDI, and effective mechanisms to channel remittances to DDI.
