Matias López earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2019 and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy, IHEID,  on the SNF-funded project about Elites & Inequalities led by Prof Graziella Moraes Silva. Matias has held positions as lecturer of Methodology at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and as a Predoc Fellow at Harvard University. His research addresses: Democratic survival in contexts of high inequality; How distribution is shaped by elites' reaction to the externalities of inequality; The relationship between corruption and economic preferences.
