Opening of the Grand Morillon Student Residence

The Grand Morillon Student Residence designed by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma opened on 4 January.

The Grand Morillon Student Residence designed by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma opened on 4 January. About sixty students moved into the new residence and over a hundred more will join them by February. We wish them all a very warm welcome.

Located in the Nations neighbourhood in Petit-Saconnex, the residence distinguishes itself by its community spirit. It offers a total of 678 beds (of various type) and a series of shared spaces, such as communal kitchens, a small auditorium, a study room, meeting rooms, a fitness centre and a large multi-purpose room on the top floor opening onto the panoramic rooftop terrace with views over the lake and Mont-Blanc. These spaces are reserved for residents and their guests and will become places where people can live, experiment and take joint initiatives. The residence also includes a small shop open to the public and a coffee shop-restaurant currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Inauguration on 23 February

An online inauguration will take place on 23 February at 18:00 CET and an open house will be organised as soon as the context allows it.
