The 22nd edition of the European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) will take place from 2-4 October 2019 in Austria. This event aims to highlight ideas and debates that challenge the status quo and look beyond the classic spheres of health policy. Since its foundation in 1998, the EHFG has developed into a key annual event, bringing together, politicians, senior decision-makers, representatives of interest groups, and experts in the field of public health and healthcare. The 2019 edition will discuss transformative change in order to instrumentalise provocative action for health, climate and societal well-being. The conferences and debates will focus on four areas: disrupting innovation, systems for change, future formulas and transforming societies.
Ilona Kickbusch, Professor and Chair of the Global Health Centre, will speak during two panel discussions on 4 October 2019:
- 09:00-11:30 : European alcohol policies - Rethinking and strengthening implementation
- 14:00-16:00 : The global climate crisis, a public health emergency
