Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
Dear Alumnae and Alumni,
We have the pleasure of inviting our alumni, the diplomatic community, the deputies and friends of the Institute to the Geneva Graduate Institute’s Annual Reception in Bern, held under the theme
Geneva Policy Outlook: Key Issues to Watch in 2023
In an age of radical uncertainty, it is more important than ever to adopt an anticipatory logic about the implications of rapid change for policy making. This is why the Geneva Graduate Institute is launching the Geneva Policy Outlook, building on our vision and mission as a pioneer in the exploration of global issues. The Geneva Policy Outlook is a finger on the pulse of Geneva’s global policy space and asks how global governance needs to adapt to new world orders, and what it means for International Geneva. The Annual Reception provides participants with a sneak preview of selected issues, prior to the launch of the Geneva Policy Outlook 2023 in January. The Annual Reception offers therefore a unique opportunity to explore a global perspective on what’s ahead in 2023, building on the Institute’s engagement all year around on issues that are shaping International Geneva. The Geneva Policy Outlook is a partnership between the Geneva Graduate Institute, the Swiss Confederation, the Republic and Canton of Geneva and the Fondation pour Genève.
The gathering will feature an introduction of key development at the Institute by the Director of the Geneva Graduate Institute, Marie-Laure Salles, followed by an interactive exchange on three topics: Sustainable Finance, Digital Challenges & Science Diplomacy, and the Future of Peace Mediation. The topics will include kick-off presentations by Nathan Sussman, Sara Hellmüller and Achim Wennmann.
Date & Place: Thursday, 1 December 2022 - 18:00
A cocktail will follow.
