Description: The project studies the impact of two supply-side changes in the organization of banking for the poor in rural Bangladesh: A simplification of the procedure to open accounts, and an increase in the density of agents. Based on survey and administrative data, we will provide a complete picture of the impact of banking on household savings, consumption patterns, shocks, and productivity.
