Abstract:
The Human Niche Project has been in place at the Graduate Institute Geneva since 2012, at which time it was instituted as a means for funding ongoing work in the field of environmental economics, biodiversity and sustainable development. The project has investigated the interactions between human population, food requirements, land use and sustainable development on local, regional and global bases.
To this end, the project has provided funds primarily for graduate student research, fieldwork expenses, workshops and academic meetings, and public events in the areas of work associated with the Human Niche Project.
The goal of this proposal is to provide a renewal of the project budget for five years in order to continue the work of the Human Niche Project for the period February 2020 – August 2023.
