Didier von Daeniken, part of the Senior Management Team leading Standard Chartered Private Bank (MIR ’88).

Didier von Daeniken was appointed Global Head, Private Banking and Wealth Management of Standard Chartered—the British-Asian banking institute—in March 2016.

Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he was Managing Director and Head of Wealth Management, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa at Barclays, where he was responsible for the development of the private bank’s growth strategy.

Mr von Daeniken started his career in commercial and correspondent banking with Credit Suisse, and held senior positions within the company in Zurich, Geneva, Dubai, Istanbul and Singapore. His most recent role there was as Co-head of Credit Suisse Private Banking in Asia Pacific.

Before joining Credit Suisse, Mr von Daeniken worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Middle East, as part of the team initially overseeing the exchange of Prisoners of War after the  Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.

A Swiss citizen, Mr von Daeniken holds a Master in International Relations from the Graduate Institute. He is a member of the Singapore Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Chapter where he lives.
