Mark Cassayre is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. He served in the US Mission’s political section from 2008 to 2011. Most recently, he served in Washington DC as Director of the Office of Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs in the Bureau of International Organizations and was a National Security Affairs Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. Previously, Mark served as a Senior Advisor at the Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute, where he assisted the School of Language Studies with workforce development. From 2013-2016, he was the Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Maputo, Mozambique. His overseas tours have included Nairobi, Kenya; Kyiv, Ukraine; Windhoek, Namibia. Mark speaks French, Portuguese, and Ukrainian.
