Environmental Committee gears up for Swiss Sustainability Week

On March 12–16 the Graduate Institute will host the first Swiss Sustainability Week.

On March 12–16 the Graduate Institute will host the first Swiss Sustainability Week, a series of events to raise awareness and generate debate around the planet’s environmental and sustainability challenges.

Gianluca Gygax (Master in International Affairs ’18), President of the Graduate Institute’s Environmental Committee, says “Sustainability Week is a Swiss-wide effort to put sustainability at the centre of attention in institutions of higher education. The concept emerged five years ago in Zurich and is now spreading to universities all over Switzerland. Among many other events, we’ll be organising a panel discussion on ‘The Private Sector and Sustainability’, a screening of Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Sequel’ and a local market tour in Geneva.”

The Environmental Committee is collaborating with the University of Geneva student association ‘Etudiant-e-s pour le Développement Durable’ on this project. All Graduate Institute affiliates will be welcome to participate in events at University of Geneva and vice-versa.

A detailed programme of the Swiss Sustainability Week will be available soon on the Environmental Committee’s homepage.
