Connexion: linking students, alumni and employers in key job sectors

Connexion, the Graduate Institute Careers Forum, is bringing Graduate Institute students together with recruiters and with alumni to discuss employment opportunities within key job sectors.

The event, organised by the Institute’s Alumni Relations and Career Services, has run each Thursday since 22 February, with exhibition stands and round-tables on Emergency and Humanitarian Action; Global Health; International Trade and Finance; Conflict Management and Peacebuilding; Philanthropic, Sustainable and Impact Investment; and Human Rights.

“Connexion is a unique opportunity for our students, alumni and employers to meet and talk about career perspectives”, says Déborah Kestener of Alumni Relations and Career Services. “Employers discuss their recruitment processes, internship programmes and recruitment opportunities, and alumni share their own experience of working within a field.”

“Sometimes, students do not have access to the career information they need”, says Ana Balcazar-Moreno (Master in International Law), who has coordinated the organization of Connexion 2018. “Connexion is a great setting for students and alumni to ask questions and to actively approach organisations where they might dream of working.”

There will be further Connexion Career Days dedicated to Child Protection and Gender Issues (12 April) and International Law (19 April).
