Water Ethics in the Lower Mekong Region

Despite economic benefits, hydropower has caused significant socio-environmental issues, especially for indigenous communities. Using qualitative research, including 19 interviews and literature review, the study explores grassroots to legal contestation strategies. Key themes include transboundary power, donor roles, and civil society action. Recommendations emphasize ethical considerations, local knowledge, gender inclusivity, legal frameworks, and international support for sustainable development in the LMR.
