The report analyses the use and understanding of intersectionality language in eight of the 2022 annual thematic reports of the UN Special Procedures. To evaluate the extent to which each of the reports provides an understanding of intersectionality, we made use of a top-down coding approach. While some reports demonstrate a comprehensive understanding, most fall short of a critical engagement with intersecting identities and forms of discrimination.
