Social Dialogue and Democracy

The research project on social dialogue and democracy explores the interrelationship between social dialogue, labour informality, and democracy. It examines how social dialogue mechanisms can guarantee rights in the informal labour market and foster democracy, using case studies from Mexico and India. The objective is to understand how social dialogue enhances democratic processes, influences policy-making, and the roles of various stakeholders. The key research question is: What social dialogue mechanisms and strategies can guarantee rights for the informal labour sector and foster democracy?
