Pathways to Prosperity: Assessing the Influence of Remittances and Diaspora Investments on Entrepreneurship Development in Sub-Saharan Africa

This ARP explores how remittances and diaspora investments are perceived to enable entrepreneurship development in Sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on case studies in The Gambia, Senegal and Zimbabwe. 3 key messages from this report are: 

  1. Untapped potential of remittances and diaspora investments for entrepreneurship development. 
  2. Growing influence of technology in the remittance market. 
  3. A strong prospect to extend the focus beyond monetary remittances to include intellectual remittances as well as capacity building at both inter-border and intra-border levels.
