This applied research project commissioned by the GCSP aims to discover potential avenues for future mediation projects in Mali and Venezuela. The prevalence of protracted conflicts and humanitarian crises across the world indicates the need for third-party actors to facilitate dialogue between affected communities. In light of recent geopolitical disruptions caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the research team agreed with the GCSP to focus on two such protracted conflicts whose resolution may be affected by these developments.
