From Covid-19 to Vector Borne Diseases: Capitalizing on City Diplomacy for Health

This applied research project, in collaboration with the UN-Habitat Geneva Office, aims to explore the potential of existing city diplomacy practices and urban networks under the context of the COVID-19 pandemic to inform the urban management of vector-borne diseases (VBDs). Through a comparative lens, this research draws on the experiences of three cities: Guangzhou, China; Nairobi, Kenya; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This study further aims to produce policy recommendations for city-level practitioners to improve the effectiveness of managing public health through city diplomacy.
