'Stories from the borders' is a short documentary that is part of the research project on 'National Borders and Social Boundaries in Europe: the Case of Friuli'. The project, which is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, examines the everyday life of the borderlanders following the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Eastern bloc.

Professor Alessandro Monsutti serves as the project's Principal Investigator, working alongside visual anthropologist Dr Stefano Morandini.
