Graduate Institute and Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Philippe Burrin, Director of the Graduate Institute, and Peter Sands, Executive Director of the Global Fund, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 22 October 2019 to enhance and widen cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of research and knowledge sharing, internship and career opportunities, joint outreach projects, and executive education training programmes.

The MoU builds on the close working relationship between the two institutions, particularly the Global Fund and the Institute’s Global Health Centre, which is now co-directed by Professor Vinh-Kim Nguyen and Visiting Lecturer Suerie Moon, both of whom attended the MoU signing. It also expands a previous MoU signed by the parties in 2018 regarding internship placements.

This MoU further strengthens the network of strategic relationships between the Graduate Institute and key actors within International Geneva, including the recent MoUs with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in March 2019, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in January 2019 and the United Nations’ Food and Agricultural Organization in June 2018.
