Suba Umathevan is the CEO of the DROSOS Foundation, a role she has held since November 2020. With over a decade of experience in grassroots organisations and nonprofit management, Umathevan is dedicated to improving the lives of young people through sustainable development programmes.
Prior to joining DROSOS, Umathevan led the Plan International Switzerland, focusing on children’s rights and gender equality. She has worked extensively across Africa, Asia, and South America, managing development programmes and crafting strategies to address global megatrends. Her career began as a research fellow at UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education.
Umathevan emphasizes the importance of partnerships and strategic collaboration in achieving lasting social change. She advocates for innovative solutions to empower young people, particularly in regions facing significant socio-economic challenges. As a member of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Assembly and the Graduate Institute Alumnae·i Advisory Board, she continues to champion social justice, inclusive leadership and empowering young people to thrive globally.
