Marcelo is a Ph.D. candidate in Development Economics. He obtained his master’s degree in Economics from the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID) in 2022, his master's degree in Social Sciences from Sorbonne Paris V in 2019, and his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of São Paulo, Brazil.
His main research interests lie in the intersection of corruption, media, and political economy. He is a research assistant at CompNet, working with European firm-level data. Further, he has worked for the IFRC, UNOG, and in the financial market in Brazil.
