Helene Tigroudja has a PhD in public international law. She is a professor at the Faculty of Law at Aix-Marseille University, where she teaches international law, international human rights law, international humanitarian law and international criminal law. She is the co-director of Masters on Humanitarian Action and Law. She is currently serving as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Committee (second term) and is appointed as Special Rapporteur on New Communications and Interim Measures. She also regularly work with other universal and regional organisations such as UNESCO (on protection of journalists), the European Union and the Council of Europe. She has authored several articles, chapters of collective books and monographs in French, English and Spanish. In particular, she has co-authored with Prof. Hennebel Traité de droit international des droits de l'homme (Paris: Pédone, 2018), which will be published in an updated and revised version as International Human Rights Law. A Treatise (Cambridge University Press, forthcoming); The American Convention on Human Rights. A Commentary (Oxford University Press, 2022). Her collected specialised Course delivered at The Hague Academy of International law in 2023 (in French) on "Armed conflicts and International Human Rights Law" will be published in 2025 (Brill).
