PhD Supervisor: Davide Rodogno and Mohamed Mahmoud Mohamedou
Expected completion date: 2025
My doctoral dissertation situates itself within the field of regional philanthropy, a realm of study exploring how philanthropy operates within diverse regional contexts and its role in addressing various societal challenges. Employing an interdisciplinary methodology, I investigate how cultural, political and market dynamics shape notions and practices of institutional philanthropic giving in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and how these interactions have been modelling the country’s philanthropic sector since the start of the 21st century.
