Calvin’s PhD research focuses on the interplay between recipient country governments and global health partnerships, particularly how recipient country governments engage in the governance and policy-making process of global health partnerships and the subsequent effects on national health systems.

Calvin holds a bachelor's degree in International Health Studies and a MSc in Biohazardous Threat Agents and Emerging Infectious Diseases from Georgetown University. He also holds a Master in International Relations from the Graduate Institute.
