SDG Lab rebranding
Now the Beyond Lab, this initiative encapsulates the need to go beyond the status quo across all aspects of development and move towards a whole-of-systems approach. One that looks at sustainable development through new ‘lenses’, such as intergenerationally equitable impact, evolving and regenerative development, and emotions and affective sciences, among others. It is also about embracing the ‘X’ factor; that is the known unknowns.

Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development
On 30 June – 3 July, 2025, the 4th UN International Conference on Financing for Development will be held to assess the progress made, identify obstacles and constraints encountered in the achievement of the SDG goals. The Conference, to be held in Sevilla, Spain, is organised by the Financing for Sustainable Development's Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA).
In resolution 78/231 of 22 December 2023, the General Assembly has decided:
“to convene, in 2025, a fourth international conference on financing for development to, inter alia,
- Assess the progress made in the implementation of the Monterrey Consensus (2003), the Doha Declaration (2009) and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (2015), identifying obstacles and constraints encountered in the achievement of the goals and objectives agreed therein, as well as actions and initiatives to overcome these constraints
- Address new and emerging issues, including in the context of the urgent need to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and to support reform of the international financial architecture."
