Who Can Participate?
Eligible participants include professors, researchers, PhD candidates, and students officially attached to the Graduate Institute on 13 May 2025.
Prizes
- Jury Prize: 150 CHF + surprise gift
- Public Prize: 150 CHF + surprise gift
- Winning photos will be selected based on originality, aesthetics, and the promotion of the actors/elements of the research field.
- Selected photographs may also be framed and displayed in the Centre relevant to the participant’s research.
Schedule
- Entry Deadline: 30 April 2025
- Official Display: 13 May 2025, 1:00 PM (during Research Day)
- Prize-Giving Ceremony: 13 May 2025, 5:00 PM
Submission Guidelines
Each participant must submit:
- Three photographs (free format)
- Minimum resolution: 2.5 MB, Maximum: 20 MB
- Accepted formats: JPG, TIFF, PNG
- Title and caption for each photo
- A 100-word presentation of the participant and their research
- All submissions will be posted on the competition website and screened during Research Day
- An online voting system will be available
Ethical Guidelines
- Participants must submit only their own photographs, for which they hold full copyright.
- Participants agree to allow the Graduate Institute to use the submitted images on its website and communication channels.

Photography & Research Workshop
A workshop on "Photography and Research" will be organised in March 2025 to explore the role of images in research.
