Professor Pauwelyn at the CIDS 2015 International Conference

Professor Pauwelyn will attend the conference "International Dispute Settlement at the Crossroads of Public and Private International Law", organized by CIDS. He will deliver the main presentation of the second session "The Intersection Between the Trade and Investment Regimes". This session will assess the points of convergence and divergence between international investment and trade regimes. What is the scope of possible cross-fertilization between standards of protection under trade and investment regimes? Under which conditions is WTO case law relevant before investment arbitration tribunals, and vice-versa? Should investment protection system and trade regime converge towards a single unified regime, or at least towards an integrated regime devoted to the protection of international economic relations?

The CIDS is a joint research center of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and the University of Geneva Law School. The CIDS is essentially devoted to research activities and provides a platform for high level exchanges on cutting-edge issues in contemporary dispute resolution.
