Walter Mandela, from Uganda, is a PhD candidate in International Law. When deciding where to pursue his doctoral degree, he found that the Graduate Institute offered the right mix of faculty expertise, funding, work/study balance and community interaction to help him reach his goal of contributing to the social and economic transformation of Africa.
