The Department is very pleased to welcome our Visiting Professor this term, Isa Blumi, who will be teaching a course on "Consequences of Empire : Ottoman Collapse and the Birth of the Middle East, 1838-1939". Dr Blumi completed his PhD at New York University in 2005. The author of several books, he is currently on leave from his position as Associate Professor at Georgia State University. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Area Studies, Leipzig University.
