Graduate Institute Alumnus on Shaping Global Plastic Policies

Eirik Lindebjerg, Global Plastics Policy Manager, World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and alumnus (MA, ’14), was invited for a panel discussion on “Our Plastic Future: Can the Oceans Survive?” In an interview, he explains his professional path and gives advice to students looking to work in the environmental sector. 

Eirik Lindebjerg holds a Master of Development Studies from the Graduate Institute and is currently Global Plastics Policy Manager at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). He was invited to participate in a panel discussion on 2 April, organised as part of Sustainability Week Switzerland, called “Our Plastic Future: Can the Oceans Survive?” The panel broached the subject of the impact of marine plastic pollution and current work addressing the issue, as well as possible solutions. 

In an interview, Mr Lindebjerg discusses his role at the WWF, how his studies at the Institute helped prepare him for working in an international organisation and gives advice to students looking to work in the environmental sector.
