Three alumni have cycled from Geneva to Solferino, Italy, to raise money for a Graduate Institute Scholarship.
In the last week of August, after several months of intense training in the Geneva countryside, Jean-Baptiste Maillart (AdH ’11), accompanied by Ilya Nuzov (AdH ’12) and Stephen Wilkinson (AdH ’08), embarked on a five-day bicycle journey from Geneva to Solferino, the birthplace of international humanitarian law.
Following in the footsteps of Henry Dunant, they cycled 650km through the Alps aiming to raise enough money for a scholarship to support a prospective LL.M. student at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
The result? Mission accomplished, as they managed to raise CHF 15’000! In total 115 people from 39 different countries donated, most of them being alumni of the Geneva Academy.
Pictures of the trip are available on Facebook.
