Gender Parity Leadership Movement in International Geneva

The Gender Centre with support from the French Permanent Mission in Geneva was at the Palais de Nations this week to help launch an Impact Group as part of the International Geneva Gender Champions initiative.

The gender parity leadership movement, that the Graduate Institute joined earlier this year, was launched last July by U.S Ambassador Pamela Hamamoto and UNOG Director-General Michael Møller and is starting to deepen its impact across the city and beyond with innovative thinking on concrete steps necessary to achieve gender equality. Professor Prügl kicked off the first meeting with a talk on feminist strategies in international governance highlighting lessons learned from her research on gender mainstreaming and expertise.

The Gender Centre will be taking an active part in sustaining the work of the International Geneva Gender Champions initiative ensuring that the bridge between academic gender research and policy activity is open.
