ERC Starting Grants at the International Law Department

The European Research Council (ERC) awards generous Starting Grants for early-career researchers with potentially groundbreaking projects. They are awarded for up to five years. The next deadline for applications is 15 October 2024.

The Graduate Institute’s International Law Department can provide a stimulating environment for projects related to international and transnational law and is happy to host Starting Grant recipients and to support applications. If you are interested in applying to a Starting Grant hosted with us, please send us a file comprising the following elements:

  • a summary of your project (max 2 pages),
  • a CV including a list of publication and two names of referees
  • three writing samples (e.g., recent publications)
  • evaluations of teaching and syllabi (if available)
  • and a preliminary draft of the project proposal.

Please send your documents by 15 August 2024 to the Department Manager, Ruth Harding, at mailto:ruth.harding@graduateinstitute.ch. All candidates’ files will be discussed by the department faculty, with a decision on support to be expected by early September 2024.

For further information, you are also welcome to contact Professor Nico Krisch, Head of the International Law Department, at nico.krisch@graduateinstitute.ch, or Dr Dominic Eggel at the Institute’s Research Office at dominic.eggel@graduateinstitute.ch.
