"In Conversation With", the new podcast series of the Graduate Institute

In this new series lauched by the Graduate Institute’s Direction and Communication department, renowned experts and thought-leaders address pressing global issues with Graduate Institute faculty members. In the first episode of “In Conversation With”, Ivan Krastev, Director of the Centre for Liberal Strategies in Sofia and Permanent Fellow at the Institute of Human Sciences in Vienna, and Shalini Randeria, Director of the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy, focus on the paradoxical world and new power dynamics emerging from the COVID-19 crisis.

The first episode of “Parlons-en” features a discussion between Roger de Weck, Swiss journalist, former Director of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation SSR and former member of the Graduate Institute’s Foundation Board, and Christine Lutringer, Executive Director and senior researcher at the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy. Discussing Roger de Weck’s new book Die Kraft der Demokratie – Eine Antwort auf die autoritären Reaktionäre, they analyse the strength of democracy in the age of illiberalism and the ways in which its institutions could be modernised and reformed.
