Conference on Identities in Contemporary Afghanistan (CICA) to be held at Yale University

Dr Naysan Adlparvar, of the MacMillan Center at Yale University, and Professor Alessandro Monsutti, of the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at the Graduate Institute, are co-organizing a Conference on Identities in Contemporary Afghanistan (CICA).

The conference will be held at Yale University on 13-14 April 2018.

The conference welcomes scholars to New Haven, Connecticut for the purposes of presenting papers and engaging in scholarly dialogue. Through a series of panels, speakers will present and discuss topics relating to identity, intersectionality, social organization and change in contemporary Afghanistan. For further details about the conference, please visit the CICA website.

Proposals are currently being accepted for the conference—on issues pertaining to identity, social organization and change—to be submitted to cica.yale.2018@gmail.com by 14 January 2018. Preference will be given to scholars whose proposals are based on recent fieldwork. We also encourage early career applicants. For additional information, including proposal criteria, please refer to the Abstract Submissions page on the CICA website.
