Celebrating the Launch of the Inspiring Peacemakers Series

In partnership with Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance, the Peacebuilding Initiative, the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding, and La Fabrique de la paix, or “The Fab”, are pleased to announce the launch of the Inspiring Peacemakers Series

     Peacebuilding   Nagulendran

Expanded and refreshed, the new series offers a platform to our students for robust, frank, and diverse discussions with inspiring peacemakers, following the successful conversation series with distinguished peace mediators Miriam Coronel-Ferrer and Julian Thomas Hottinger which took place at The Fab earlier this year.

The Fab is the Geneva Graduate Institute’s innovation lab, a creative and safe space that promotes and showcases collaborative solutions for the world of today and tomorrow. Students will have the unique opportunity to design, curate, and host meaningful conversations with experts in different fields such as in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, migration, gender, climate change, trade and economic development, all in regards to their intersections with peace.

Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance will share and extend its expertise, ideas and network to support our students in the Inspiring Peacemakers Series over the next five years, aligning the duration of the conversation series with the recently established Nagulendran Chair in Peace Mediation, the first ever chair in peace mediation in Switzerland held by Professor Achim Wennmann at the Geneva Graduate Institute.

Shruti Satish, President of the Peacebuilding Initiative, commented:

The Inspiring Peacemaking Series, a joint collaboration with The Fab and the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding, is a wonderful opportunity for our student community to meet, network, and connect with professionals in the peacemaking sector, both in Geneva and internationally. On behalf of the Peacebuilding Initiative, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance for their generous support and partnership. Their commitment to nurturing the next generation of peacemakers is truly inspiring, and we’re so excited to work together in our shared mission of contributing towards a more peaceful world.

Tamara Pironnet, Managing Director of The Fab, commented:

The Inspiring Peacemakers Series are the types of interactions which we aim to promote at The Fab. We are delighted to be able to provide the platform for real, personal and in depth intergenerational and intersectoral conversations. To give the youth the opportunity to engage directly with world renown experts, to learn, challenge and be inspired by them. And for experts to have the opportunity to share with and learn from our students. It's an enriching experience from all angles.

The Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance is a Swiss-based private philanthropic initiative founded by Singaporeans Dorothy and John Nagulendran to promote a more peaceful world. Its mission is to harness the strategic value of private philanthropy by offering peacemakers a platform for creativity, personal growth, and empowerment. It builds collaborative alliances and accompanies its partners to design and implement innovative projects to support our next generation of peacemakers.
