The Doha Forum serves as a global platform for dialogue, bringing together leaders and experts to tackle some of the most pressing challenges of our time while fostering innovative, action-driven networks. This year, the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) was honored to contribute to these critical conversations through diverse engagements and expert insights: 

Spotlight on CCDP Contributions

  • Dr. Sara Hellmüller participated in a panel discussing the evolving dynamics of global conflict and mediation. The conversation explored how deterrence may shape the future of mediation, with limited but essential spaces for diplomacy. Sara emphasized the importance of innovation in navigating these complexities.
  • Dr. Andreas Hirblinger, Senior Researcher at CCDP, delivered a keynote address at the Qatar Mediation Forum (QMF), a side event of the Doha Forum organized by the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies. He highlighted the need for a balanced approach to digitalization in peacemaking, framing it as a hybrid socio-technical process that leverages both human and machine agency.
  • Florian Weigand, Research Associate at CCDP and Co-Director at the Centre on Armed Groups, contributed to a panel on humanitarian engagement with non-state armed groups. Florian underscored the importance of understanding these groups' perspectives as a pathway to overcoming challenges in delivering humanitarian aid and achieving meaningful impact.
