Theme: Emerging Perspectives on Sustainability in Africa

The AR Initiative is a sustainability and impact advisory firm in Nigeria that works with businesses in Africa to improve sustainability performance and develop capacity for impact management. We are launching the African Sustainability Magazine (ASM), a quarterly publication exploring Africa's sustainable development landscape. This first-of-its-kind magazine aims to deliver cutting-edge insights, expert analyses, and actionable strategies to empower leaders, innovators, and change-makers across the continent. Launching in December, ASM will amplify voices in sustainability in Africa, feature African leaders in business, and engage our audience in critical conversations about sustainable finance, clean technologies, regulations, and industry trends.

The African Sustainability Magazine (ASM) invites submissions from students and alumni of The Geneva Graduate Institute, for its upcoming issue, which will focus on critical aspects of sustainability in Africa.

We welcome papers addressing either of the following themes:

  1. Geopolitical priorities shaping ESG/sustainability in Africa
  2. Sustainable finance and innovation in Africa.

     

Deadline

 

All submissions must be received by 1 November 2024. Please send your submissions and any queries to comms@arinitiative.org

 

Selection Process

 

Submissions will be reviewed by the ASM editorial board. Selected papers will be published in the upcoming issue of African Sustainability Magazine.

 

Submission Guidelines 

 

Length: 1000 words per article.

Language: Use British English for spelling and grammar.

Referencing: Use footnote referencing in MLA style.

Author information: Submit all articles with: 1/A high-quality, relevant picture; 2/Your full name (as you prefer it to appear); 3/ A professional description (i.e. Rebecca John, Masters in Development Studies candidate at the Geneva Graduate Institute).
