In collaboration with Vincent Negri of the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS), CCDP Faculty Associate Isabelle Schulte Tenckhoff recently published the bilingual edited volume: Mimesis: Towards International Normativity – Between Mimetism and Dissemination with Éditions A. Pedone (Paris).

The contributions combine insights from anthropology and law in order to explore the mimetic construction of legal norms – the complex (and often asymmetric) societal processes of interpretation that underlie the normalisation and diffusion of norms, both domestically and internationally.

The product of a workshop co-organised in Geneva by CNRS and the Graduate Institute’s CCDP, and with additional financial support from the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Musées d’art et d’histoire de la ville de Genève, the volume features essays by a variety of researchers from different backgrounds, including Barbara Bravo, Stephanie C. Hofmann, Grégoire Mallard and Eric Wyler.
