Alumnus honored by Chile

Graduate Institute Alumnus Dr Diego Avaria was recently awarded First Prize in the Contest on Chilean Foreign Policy, Security, Defense and Integration, the National Academy of Strategic and Political Studies in Chile announced.

The contest was organised by the Chilean Career Diplomats Association, the National Academy of Political and Strategic Studies and Alberto Hurtado University.

Dr Diego Avaria earned his PhD in International History at the Graduate Institute in 2010. He received the prize for “La administración Reagan y el plebiscito en Chile: La política de presión (1987-1989)”/“The Reagan Administration and the Plebiscite in Chile: The Politics of Pressure (1987-1989)”. The paper will be published in a book.
