The Centre for Finance and Development and the World Bank Group Geneva are pleased to invite you to the presentation of the World Development Report (WDR) 2019 “The Changing Nature of Work”.
Labor markets are constantly reshaped by technological progress. The digital transformation and its impact on the labor market is already having broad social and economic effects, and ranks high on the political agenda of both developing and developed countries alike. But what new policies are needed to seize opportunities and solve problems related to technological advancement?
The World Bank's 2019 World Development Report is contributing to the discussion on far-reaching decisions of policy makers regarding public education, social welfare and taxation. The Bank's annual flagship policy review publication deals with the impacts of technology on work and what Governments can do concerning human capital, social protection and taxation systems.
