As part of the Geneva Trade and Development Workshop (GTDW) seminar series, the Graduate Institute in Geneva (IHEID) and our partners are pleased to invite you to a public talk given by Gene Grossman, Jacob Viner Professor of International Economics in the Department of Economics and the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

Professor Grossman will present his recent paper When Tariffs Disrupt Global Supply Chains, coauthored with Elhanan Helpman.

About the speaker

Professor Grossman received his B.A. from Yale University and his Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and joined the Princeton faculty immediately thereafter in 1980. Professor Grossman has received numerous professional honors and awards including the Onassis Prize in International Trade from the Onassis Foundation, the Cass Business School and the City of London, the Harry G. Johnson Prize from the Canadian Economics Association, the Bernard-Harms Prize from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and fellowships from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. He was elected a Fellow of the Econometric Society in 1992, a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1997, and a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations in 2008, and he holds Honorary Doctorates from the University of St. Gallen and the University of Minho. Professor Grossman is well known for his writings on international trade.
