Representing indigeneity Between Local, National and International Mechanisms

, -

Room S4, Maison de la Paix

Add to Calendar

This roundtable brings together scholars and practitioners engaged with Indigenous issues to reflect on how “indigeneity” is represented in various settings—from local and national contexts to international institutions.  The discussion will revolve around three guiding questions:

  1. How can we meaningfully represent Indigenous concerns in research and advocacy?
  2. Who represents whom, and how are voices carried or limited in international spaces?
  3. What role do international mechanisms (like the UN Permanent Forum or expert bodies) play, and how effective are they as tools for Indigenous mobilization?
