ITLOS Advisory Opinion on Climate Change
The Commission of Small Island States on Climate Change and International Law submitted a request for an Advisory Opinion to International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) in December 2022. The ITLOS delivered its Opinion on 21 May 2024.
Join us for this briefing, in which we will reflect on initial responses to the Advisory Opinion with legal experts who have been involved in this case. We will also cover some of the background of the case and the process leading up to the delivery of the Court’s opinion.
