IFC’s Director for Global Health, Education, Services and Disruptive Technologies, Mr. Farid Fezoua, will address impact investing in practice and explore how the International Finance Corporation (IFC) works to strengthen health systems in low- and middle-income countries.

Farid Fezoua, Global Director Health & Education, International Finance Corp. (IFC)

Farid Fezoua is the new Global Director for Disruptive Technologies, Services, and Funds at IFC, a member of the World Bank Group and the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets.

Based in Washington DC, he is responsible for managing IFC’s investment and advisory services across three broad industry groups, leading teams responsible for: an $8.9 billion investment portfolio in Services, which covers health and education, tourism, retail, and property; more than $1.5 billion invested capital in Disruptive Technologies, and $5.9 billion invested in Private Equity growth and early-stage venture funds. Together, these three units help support successful economic development that helps people, countries, and the planet thrive.

Prior to joining IFC, Farid served in various senior positions across banking, industry, and private equity. Farid was Managing Director of GE Capital, President & CEO of GE Healthcare Africa, and more recently, President and CEO of General Electric Africa, leading GE’s operations in Sub- Saharan Africa, including developing sustainable solutions to strengthening health systems.

Farid is a member of the steering committees for the Regionalized Vaccine Manufacturing Collaborative and the Impact Investments Initiative (Triple I) for Global Health. Previously, he was Co-Chair of the United States Presidential Advisory Council for Doing Business in Africa, Vice Chair of the US-Africa Business Council, and Chair of the US-South Africa Business Council.
