The exhibition, titled The Garden of the (In)visible, will open at the Institute on Thursday, 31 October, at the Maison de la Paix. A roundtable discussion with Professor Katja Hrobat Virloget, from the University of the Littoral in Koper, will be held in room S5 from 18:00 to 20:00.
This exhibition, a collaboration between Alessandro Monsutti, Professor of Anthropology and Sociology at the Institute, Roberta Altin and Giuseppe Grimaldi, from the University of Trieste, and Katja Hrobat Virloget, from the University of the Littoral in Koper, tells the stories of migrants through the personal belongings they left behind while crossing the borders of Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy. It highlights invisible journeys that have left visible traces, featuring everyday items that once belonged to those in transit, now symbolizing lives left behind.
The exhibition will be displayed in the reception area of Petal 1 from 31 October to 29 November.
This event is co-organize with the Global Migration Centre.
