The international community's responses to humanitarian crises are often highly polarised, veering from passivity to demonising leaders and advocating sanctions, coercive military strikes or regime change.
Using insights from social psychology, virtue theory and foreign policy analysis, this talk will explore practical ways of persuading leaders to be ethical and respect human rights.
