Description

Are Middle-Income Countries Reshaping the Approach to Intellectual Property on Pharmaceuticals? Lessons from Brazil

The study aims to explore if middle-income countries with pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity are (re)shaping their approach to intellectual property rights (IPR) and in what ways recent movements at the international level for regionalisation and stronger manufacturing capacity are influencing policies at the national level. The study builds from previous analysis on the connections between health policies, local production of medicines and IP barriers in Brazil to (re)visit recent movements during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The presentation will be given by Gabriela Costa Chaves, Visiting Research Fellow at the Global Health Centre. Save your spot now by registering above!
