Dr Margaret's Chan's term as Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) will end on 30 June 2017. This celebratory event will applaud her leadership in the past ten years and reflect on her time in Geneva from both a personal and a professional perspective. Global health is now on the agenda of high level political fora worldwide and has received recognition as a cornerstone of the SDG era, while Dr Chan also walked the talk on women's leadership in global health.
Dr Margaret Chan is the Director-General of WHO and was first appointed on 9 November 2006. The World Health Assembly appointed her for a second five-year term at its sixty-fifth session in May 2012.
