Join us for this 75th World Health Assembly side event to explore ways to better address health emergencies in Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC), one of the regions most impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. We will discuss the recommendations of a Roadmap proposed by the Government of Mexico, the Pan American Health Organization, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations.
This Roadmap sets out six lines of action to strengthen pandemics response and preparedness in the LAC region, including the creation of regional mechanisms for epidemiological surveillance and participation in clinical trials; the promotion of investment in R&D and technology transfer; and the sustainable financing of public goods for the region.
